RHS® Pro Elite™ Aluminum Cylinder Heads For LS7 Applications
11/09/2011 4:35:00 PM
RHS® Pro Elite™ Aluminum Heads with a 12° valve angle are ideal for both small & large cubic inch, hardcore street LS7 applications
Memphis, TN - RHS® has released the aftermarket's only high performance LS7 head that features a raised intake runner design specifically engineered to accommodate production and aftermarket LS7 intake manifolds and valve train setups.
RHS® Pro Elite™ Aluminum Cylinder Heads for LS7 Applications are designed with a 12-degree valve angle and unique .220" raised intake runners to provide a better line of sight into the cylinders and allow for an improved short turn. In addition, custom CNC-machined runners optimize volume, atomization and velocity. Engineered from 355T6 aerospace-grade aluminum alloy, the heads feature the popular LS 6-bolt head design, making them compatible with both the RHS® LS Race Block and all OEM or aftermarket GM LS-type blocks. The design also increases clamping capacity to improve cylinder head gasket retention on high horsepower and boosted applications. These features, and a .750" thick deck surface, increase integrity in high cylinder pressure applications. In addition, the Pro Elite™ Heads have a reinforced solid rocker rail engineered for shaft mount rockers to provide increased rigidity and valve train stability. Raised .400" valve cover rails provide clearance for aftermarket rocker systems, while the raised runner and rolled valve angle increase overall flow capability. These features, coupled with an improved water jacket design, make them ideal heads for both small and large cubic inch, hardcore street applications.

RHS® carries torque plates, head gaskets and piston oil squirters to maximize performance with the RHS® LS Race Block
Memphis, TN - RHS ® carries accessory items and tools needed to maximize performance with the RHS ® LSRace Block.
RHS ® carries a variety of items designed for you to get the most out of the new RHS ® LS Race Block. RHS ® Torque Plates for boring/honing are carefully engineered to precisely mimic the thickness and design of an installed aluminum cylinder head. When assembled with the torque plates, engine block stresses and bore distortion are accurately replicated during the machining process, thus more precise boring and honing is reached for maximum performance. These are a must-have for any serious RHS ® LS Race Block engine builder. Next, RHS ® precision MLS (Multi-Layer Steel) Head Gaskets are custom made for an exact fit in LS Race Block applications. They are comprised of three layers of hard embossed stainless steel with a high temperature FKM rubber coating and a stainless steel shim layer that features a laser welded stopper layer for the ultimate in combustion sealing. MLS Head Gaskets are perfect for high horsepower, high boost, naturally aspirated and nitrous applications. Finally, RHS ® Piston Oilers bolt to the underside of the block, which keeps the pistons lubricated and cool during extreme race use.

COMP Cams® Ultra-Gold™ ARC Series Aluminum Rocker Arms
11/09/2011 2:25:54 PM
Ultra-Gold™ ARC Rockers have arrived with design updates and features that take the line of rockers to a whole new level of performance
Memphis, TN − The next generation of COMP Cams® Ultra-Gold™ ARC Series Aluminum Rocker Arms have arrived. The new ARC series has design updates and new features that take the popular line of rockers to a whole new level.
The original Ultra-Gold™ Aluminum Rockers changed the way racing and high performance street engine builders approached valve train design. Now, COMP Cams® is revolutionizing valve train performance again with the next generation of Ultra-Gold™ ARC Series Aluminum Rocker Arms, featuring an Arced, Recessed, Contoured design. Using cutting edge design techniques and manufacturing processes, Ultra-Gold™ ARC Rockers increase engine power, enhance valve train stability and improve oiling while fitting under stock valve covers. Ultra-Gold™ ARC Rockers feature a new extrusion based on improvements developed through FEA analysis, resulting in an even stronger, stiffer body without compromising mass. A new arced channel and contoured top, similar to a bridge design, give the rockers the best strength-to-weight ratio possible. The body has additional CNC contouring to improve clearances for valve covers and springs. Manufactured entirely in the U.S.A., all Ultra-Gold™ ARC Series Aluminum Rocker Arms feature a spring oiler channel through the body for improved lubrication. Trunnion retaining clips have been replaced with an ultra durable spiral lock type clip, similar to what holds a piston pin in place. Stress relieving radii have also been added to areas of the body, trunnion and pushrod seat insert. Even the included locking nuts have been revised to increase surface area to better maintain lash and eliminate wear.

COMP Cams® Topless 100 Coming Up in August
07/19/2011 8:32:11 AM
The 19th Annual COMP Cams® Topless 100 at Batesville Motor Speedway is rapidly approaching as the South prepares for its only true crown jewel event.
Memphis, TN − As the summer heat begins to reign supreme throughout the South, racers and fans know that it means the 19th Annual COMP Cams® Topless 100 is just around the corner. The mega-event is scheduled for August 18th-20th, 2011, at the picturesque Batesville Motor Speedway (Locust Grove, Arkansas).
While many other areas of the country play host to "crown jewel" events each year, the Topless 100 is arguably the South’s only true elite event. While many insiders in the sport argue what does and doesn't qualify an event as a crown jewel, most agree that there are few events in the South that meet the criteria for the status. The Topless 100, however, definitely makes the cut. For the past eighteen years, the event, which was the brainchild of Batesville Motor Speedway general manager and promoter Mooney Starr, has been the biggest paying Dirt Late Model event in the South. With the big paydays each year come incredibly talented fields of cars at the 3/8 mile oval track, and over the years there have been some truly memorable moments.
The $40,000 first place check for the 100 lap event is no doubt a tasty incentive for any driver, but the prestige that goes with a COMP Cams® Topless 100 title is equally appetizing for drivers from the region.
Batesville, Arkansas driver Billy Moyer, Jr., has been part of several COMP Cams® Topless 100 victory celebrations before, but they have come with his dad, the legendary Billy Moyer, in victory lane.
"I've been to victory lane with Dad four times now over the years, and that's really cool," comments Moyer, Jr. "However, I want to know what it feels like to be the one lifting that trophy over my head at this event. I grew up going to this race, and dreaming of racing in it one day and winning it. The best drivers in the country are right here in my backyard that weekend, and it's my chance to be the best. I probably want that win more than any other. We just don't have many races of that magnitude in this area."
A fellow Batesville native got to do the unthinkable at the event in 2010, as Jared Landers killed two birds with one stone by getting his first Dirt Late Model win and his COMP Cams® Topless 100 victory at the same time.
"It was all so unbelievable. I grew up in Batesville so obviously I've been going to that track my whole life, and I've seen every COMP Cams® Topless 100,” states the 29-year-old Landers. “As a kid you dream of winning that race, but it just seems so impossible. To win that race last year, which was also my first Super Late Model win, was unreal. Everybody asked me when it finally hit me that I had won the Topless 100, and to be honest it was probably that next week, while I was looking at the trophy in my shop. It still seems so unreal."
